Hackathons
I love building with a team. My team won first place at GT Hacks 2025 with a VR experience designed around firefighter training; I worked on the 3D maze. I also took part in UGA Hacks and SOBP BrainHack.
I was selected as a Kamala scholar and was meant to go to Grace Hopper this month, but it was canceled. GitHub gave me a pass to Universe instead, and I would really love to make it to San Francisco. My ticket is fully covered (thank you so much GitHub!); I'm still figuring out my flights and hotel.
I'm graduating this December and hoping to start my career in software engineering or machine learning in 2027. I was really looking forward to Grace Hopper because I wanted to meet engineers, talk to teams I admire and find my community.
I'm attending college remotely right now, so chances to meet people in the industry are harder to come by. GitHub Universe gives me another chance to do that.
I'm especially excited about the Women in Tech Networking Reception, the sessions on agentic AI and Copilot, and the evening networking events around Universe.
If you or your team can help with travel or accommodations, I'd be so grateful. Booking directly is easiest, and I can share the booking details privately.

At CCNY's Parra Lab, I used Python to study EEG responses to eye, head and teleportation events during VR visual search. I'm currently working on neuroscience-related machine learning research to improve an existing model.
I'm currently vice president of PIXL and previously served as vice president of Women in Technology. At a beginner VR programming workshop, I helped teach, answered attendees' questions and supported people around the room. I also founded my college's first Society of Women Engineers club.
Outside of tech: I love running & will be doing my first 10k in December!
Anaya Yorke was selected as a 2026 Kamala Scholar for Grace Hopper before the event was canceled. GitHub gave her a complimentary pass to Universe in San Francisco, but she still needs help arranging travel and a hotel. She graduates in December and is hoping to meet engineers and early-career teams in person. If you or your team can help, or know someone who might, here's her page: universe.anayayorke.tech
